Design used to be complicated and difficult, but Canva has been helping us for years with that mission. The new AI tool by Canva is built on the open-source Stable Diffusion technology with changes made to adapt it to Canva’s concept and interface. The feature is available to all users – for free and paid – on the Canva platform.
In less than two months since the beta version of Canva AI Text to Image was launched, more than 6 million images have been created using the tool, from social media posts to business presentations, flyers, and even logos.
Turn your imagination into wonderful images
Now, when you struggle to find the image you envision, simply find the right words – and watch them come to life. With the new AI generator, Text to Image, you can create and edit images without leaving Canva. Starting from initial visuals to creating visual assets for any purpose and sharing them with the world.
How does the magic work?
You can access the image generator from the “Text to Image” button in the left panel of Canva’s editor.
To use the tool, simply input a text prompt describing the image you want. For example: “Grizzly bear surfing on a surfboard in a tropical island”.
After you’ve written what you want to see, it’s time to choose the style: photography, painting, 3D, drawing, pattern, or conceptual art are available at this stage. Not sure what you want? Let Canva surprise you with a click of “Surprise Me”.
After defining the request, click on “Create Image” and get ready to be excited.
Within seconds, you will see four images generated by Canva AI. Then, you can choose the image you want to add elements to and edit it with Canva’s image editing features. Want more options for the image? Click the refresh button and receive more suggestions.
Got the image you wanted? Great. Download the image in your desired format in high resolution. You can also share your new creation online through social media and email.
At the time of writing this article, Canva allows you to create up to 100 images per day.
