Our chatbot ChatGPT is developing rapidly and continues to release new versions. So what are the differences between the different versions? All the details here:
Free ChatGPT Version
The free version recently used the GPT-3.5 (LLM) model. A model that has been improved since the breakthrough of ChatGPT to the world but is still weaker than the GPT-4 model. When the model is weaker, the responses will be less deep, accurate, and capabilities like text translation or context understanding will also be less accurate. This model is good for simple instructions.
Recently, the GPT-4o version was released for the free version, which boosted the performance of the free version of ChatGPT and made it much faster and more accurate.
Access to the GPT’s store was previously reserved only for paid plan users, but it has also recently been released for the free version.
ChatGPT Plus
ChatGPT Plus is the paid version of OpenAI and includes all the models and capabilities offered by the chatbot, which currently include GPT-3.5, GPT-4, and GPT-4o.
The GPT-4 and GPT-4o versions include the ability to create images with DALL-E 3, internet access, and advanced data analysis.
When we asked ChatGPT about the differences between the two models, this was the response received:
“The recommendation is to start with GPT-4 to get a general performance sense and only then consider moving to GPT-4o if there is a need for further customization or focus.”
Among the capabilities of ChatGPT Plus:
– Preferred access to the service, even during peak times. Meaning, when there are many users on the system, Plus users can continue to use the chatbot without delays.
– Plus users get access to the latest and upgraded models of OpenAI, including access to the GPT-4 model.
ChatGPT Plus is intended for users interested in improved performance, preferred access, and staying updated on the latest and advanced versions of OpenAI’s AI models.
In terms of model capabilities, it seems that the GPT-4o version, which is currently available in the free version, is not less powerful and maybe even more than GPT-4. So at this stage, if you are wondering why use the paid version, it seems more worthwhile for those who need to work with the API, otherwise the free version is completely sufficient.
