The latest flavor of Coca-Cola, revealed this week, is called Y3000 under the slogan “taste like the future” which also reflects the way Coca-Cola used AI to determine its taste.
The Y3000 flavor comes under the brand’s “Creations” line aimed at appealing to younger consumers.
Y3000 is supposed to mimic Coca-Cola, but with a twist originating from artificial intelligence. Some of the tasters say it has a twist that gives a feeling of passion fruit, wild berries, and fruits.
During the creation process, the company gathered ideas and insights from regular people to decide which flavors are related to the future, and then used artificial intelligence to understand taste pairings and profiles that best suit the theme.
The product’s packaging was also created with the help of AI, as presented in a marketing message:
“Created in collaboration with artificial intelligence, the design features fluid in a changing state, evolving, communicating through shape and color changes that emphasize a positive future.”
And finally, Coca-Cola, being a company that leads the connection of experience with the product, also integrated an experiential feature through the QR code on the packaging. Scanning the code leads to the Creations website, where you can play and feel how the future will look in another 3000 – 977 years from today.
